How to take care of your Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash Extensions Aftercare

Now that you have your beautiful extensions, you will need to follow some simple aftercare rules to keep them looking their best.

  • Do not rub your eyes

  • Do not use sunscreens, bug sprays, oil based products or oil based removers around the eyes.

  • Only use water based mascara (optional)

  • Use water based, oil-free eye makeup remover

  • Refrain from using a mechanical eyelash curler

  • Pulling on your lashes is a NO NO (this may cause your natural lashes to come out prematurely

Let them Cure

  • For the first 24-48 hours the glue for your extensions will be curing, meaning they are still setting up. During this time it is important to keep them dry and as untouched as possible.

  • Avoid applying makeup, washing your eye area, and even the steam from the shower.

  • Try your best to sleep on your back, because sometimes rubbing your eyes into your pillow can loosen fresh lashes and cause them to fall out prematurely.

  • Talk to your lash technician about this curing period and what she suggests to let your lashes set up safely.

Keep it Oil-Free

Makeup and beauty products are great and safe to use with eyelash extensions. Just be wary of products that rely on oil. Oil can break down some of the adhesives in the glue used for lash extensions, meaning they can twist and fall out before they are ready. When washing your face, use an oil-free cleanser and don’t scrub or pull at your lashes. If you snag the extensions on a cloth or cleaner pad it can pull out the extension and natural lash, tearing and damaging the eyelash follicle permanently! Just be gentle and careful.

Get A Regular Fill, Don’t wait too long to get a fill. Some people take their time between appointments to save money, but towards the date of their fill the extensions have grown out and started to twist and pull on the natural lashes. They are more likely to snag or irritate you, meaning you’ll touch, scrub and pull them out much more, damaging your natural lashes. Book an appointment to remove extensions if you don’t want a fill, or go get a regular fill to keep your lashes healthy and full.

Eyelash  Lift & Tinting

Lash Lift

Lash Lift is an eyelash perming process, we lift your lashes making them look longer, more lifted, and fuller.

Traditional Lash Perm vs. Lash Lift

Unlike the traditional lash perm, lash lift gives you a result that is more desirable. Traditional lash perm uses the perming rods which, can make the tips of your lashes curl backward. Whereas Lash Lift straightens your natural lashes at the root, creating the appearance of longer and thicker lashes. In addition, the added lash tint creates a mascara effect. Your lashes will be perfect from the moment you wake up. The process involves using the silicon shields (pads) which, feels more comfortable. Lash Lift enhances, adds length and volume, and lifts to the natural lashes. No extensions, adhesives or mascaras is required.

How long do they last?

The procedure takes about 45 - 60 minutes and the result lasts up to 6 weeks until the next time you come for a lash lift again.

Will it damage my natural lashes?
It is 99% safe. The process does not involve products touching your lid skin nor extensive heat. We recommend only get lash lift done every 6-7 weeks and no more than this.

Who needs Lash Lift:

  • If you have been allergic to eyelash extension adhesives.

  • If you cannot keep up with the eyelash extension maintenance.

  • If you have naturally long and full lashes.

  • If you cannot keep up with daily makeup rituals.

  • If you simply just want a soft enhancement on your eyes without having to wear mascara.

  • If you want a fuller result when wearing mascara.

Can I wear mascara?

Yes

How to care for your Lash Lift:

  •  Don't get your lashes wet during the first 24 hours after the application.

  •  Do not use lash serum during the first 48 hours after the application.

  • Come back every 8 weeks (if not using mascara) or 6 weeks (if using mascara daily) to get them re-lifted again.
